My name is Su. I am married and we have 4 children - 3 girls and a boy aged between 4 and 11. I am registered with OFSTED. Both my husband and myself hold current police check certificates.
I am registered to care for 4 children under 8 years old in addition to my own children. I take part time and full time and also do local school drop offs and pick ups. Children over 8 can be cared for as long as it does not impact on caring for younger children.
We live in Sutton Coldfield and my children attend our local schools in Streetly. We live in a detached house with large enclosed garden space.
Your children can participate in numerous activities, including trampoline, swings, bikes and slide outside and prams, cars, dressing up, playdough and craft activities indoors.
My aim is to provide a safe and caring environment for your child, I will encourage your child to learn for themselves and be able to make their own choices and decisions. I will take your child on outings. These will include local toddler groups, soft play areas, parks, feeding the ducks and the library. From time to time I endeavour to be able to take your child further afield on day trips.
I will work closely with you to gain knowledge of your child and their experiences. I acknowledge that you the parents are the primary educators of your child and I aim to provide the best possible care for your child.
Being a childminder means I am different from a nursery as I can only look after a certain amount of children at any one time and therefore I can offer lots of individual attention to the children. I also provide a homelike environment and this seems to appeal to parents as they know the child has all the comforts and security of a home setting as well as having other children to play with. I look after children of mixed ages so your child will learn to be comfortable around older and younger children.
I am also flexible which comes in handy if either parent works shifts, I can offer care for your child from a few months old right through to secondary school which means your child will have a great sense of security and continuity whilst with me.
